Jradzor Small Hydropower Plant

The Jradzor Small Hydropower Plant reduces global emissions by nearly 9,000 metric tons per year. It is situated in a small, mountainous region of Armenia that historically has very unreliable access to electricity. Not only has the Jradzor Small Hydropower Plant provided a reliable source of electricity to the residents of Akhuryan, Armenia and neighboring villages, but it has also helped formerly unemployed locals develop valuable employment skills.

The Jradzor Small Hydropower Plant exhibits how renewable sources of energy can foster the development of valuable trades in under privileged communities. It goes to show that often times smaller projects, despite offsetting less carbon per project, oftentimes have broader effects. At Replant Eden we take pride in supporting communities alongside the environment in order to maximize the benefits of going sustainable. Contributions to this project go towards enhancing the plant's efficiency which in turn allows more Armenians to have a clean, reliable source of electricity.
